Dwarf ‘Golden Elf’ Spirea
|COMMON NAME||Dwarf ‘Golden Elf’ Spirea|
|BOTANICAL NAME *||Spiraea japonica ‘Golden Elf’|
|ZONE||4 – 8|
|SIZE||6-9” HT, 1-2’ SP. Great shrub for use as groundcover.|
|FOLIAGE||Emerges bright chartreuse. Will become a little more green during the summer, but will still be a bright spot in the garden.|
|FLOWER||May-June. Pink, flat-topped cymes, and showy. Though I must admit that I’m not a fan of pink with chartreuse. Would much prefer white with chartreuse if the cultivar is ever developed.
|GROWING CONDITIONS||Full Sun. Will tolerate Part Shade, but won’t be as bright. May never need pruning. Will tolerate clay soils and pollution.|
