Lenten Rose ‘Molly’s White’
COMMON NAME | Lenten Rose ‘Molly’s White’ |
BOTANICAL NAME * | Helleborus x Frostkiss ‘Molly’s White’ |
ZONE | 5a – 8b |
SIZE | 24” x 24” at maturity |
FOLIAGE | Leathery, heavily silver-veined dark green foliage. Evergreen during the winter. Last year’s foliage will turn brown in the spring. |
FLOWER | Pure white on dark stems, Feb – April. |
FRUIT | If seed capsules are allowed to remain, they will pop to disperse hundreds of tiny seeds. |
GROWING CONDITIONS | Shade to part-shade. For best results, cut back last year’s foliage in Feb/early Mar so that it won’t distract from the beautiful flowers. Be careful not to cut new growth, since this will usually result in cutting off buds for flowers. Cut back flowers in May before the seed capsules burst. |
NOTES | Reliably Deer Resistant. |
